New Delhi: The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has breaken yet another record. The 30 year old batsman has broken into the top 10 of One-day International run-scorers, leaving behind West Indian batting legend Brian Lara. Virat, who played a 45-run knock in the first ODI against New zealand achieved the feat. Brian Lara's 10405 runs have now being surpassed by Indian captains's 10430 ODI runs. Kohli is currently No.10 on the list.

The visitors, Indian team started off with a win against the host, New Zealand with a clinical display, which saw them chase down a revised target of 156 by eight wickets in 34.5 overs. The Duckworth-Lewis method came into the picture for an interruption which was not caused by rain for the first time.

After losing the toss, India was asked to bowl and they restricted the Kiwis at a mere score of 157 in 38 overs.

Among the bowlers, wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav emerged most successful bowler, returning figures of 4/39 in 10 overs, while seamer Mohammed Shami finished with an excellent 3/19 in six overs. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also managed to get two wickets. For the host, captain Kane Williamson top-scored with 64 off 81 balls.

While chasing, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan began the innings with a flurry of boundaries, eventually finishing as the top-scorer with 75 off 103 balls.
