Dusshera 2019: India Dives In Color of Festive Vibes Of Vijaya Dashmi

New Delhi: In India the festive vibes can be seen all around and today Vijayadashami is being celebrated with great energy in various part of South India, Vijayadashami is also known as Dussehra, which is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year. It is observed on the tenth day in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin or Kartik, the sixth and seventh month of the Hindu Luni-Solar Calendar respectively.

In West Bengal, Women participate in 'sindur khela' on the occasion of Vijaya Dashmi at a puja pandal in Siliguri.

In Kerala Parents with their children gather at Thunchan Smarakam, Attukal in Thiruvananthapuram for ‘Vidyarambham’ ceremony which is observed on Vijaya Dashami. ‘Vidyarambham' is a tradition where children are introduced to reading and writing.

In Delhi, Women participate in 'sindur khela' on the occasion of Vijaya Dashmi at a pandal in Chittaranjan Park.

In Karnataka, Elephants, taking part in the parade, during Dussehra festival in Mysuru today, have been decorated.

Devotees offer prayers at Dashanan Temple (a Ravan Temple) in Kanpur on Dussehra.
