New Delhi: Election Commission bans Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BSP chief Mayawati from election campaigning for 72 hours & 48 hours respectively, starting from 6 am tomorrow, for violating Model Code of Conduct by making objectionable statements in their speeches. 

The Election Commission, in its order said that Yogi Adityanath can't address any public meeting, campaigns or address the media for 72 hours from 6 am tomorrow. A similar bar is in place for Mayawati for 48 hours starting tomorrow.

Yogi Adityanath had come under severe opposition criticism for dragging the armed forces into politics after his "Modi ji ki sena" comment.

At a recent rally in Ghaziabad."The Congress people used to serve terrorists biryani, but Modi ji's Sena (Prime Minister Narendra Modi's army) gives them only bullets and bombs."

VK Singh, the Union Minister had rebuked his party colleague, saying the "Army does not belong to any individual but to the entire nation".
