New Delhi: Two cops in Punjab showed commendable dedication towards their job as they stood knee-deep in water to man the traffic, and now there dedication has been recognised. As rain poured down on Wednesday in Zirakpur, Punjab, two head constables Gurdhian Singh and Gurdev Singh stood in knee-deep water to perform their duty and now they have been honoured lice, two head constables, Gurdhian Singh and Gurdev Singh, have been honoured for their work by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, and DGP Punjab Suresh Arora.


Actor Gul Panag was the first to praise Head Constable Gurdhian Singh in a widely-shared Twitter post, which read, "...hard working traffic policemen like this gentleman, would be immensely helped by good rain gear and a pat on the back. This is under the Zirakpur flyover, Patiala Road."

Along with the post she shared two pictures of the cop directing traffic while standing in water and tagging CM Amarinder Singh.

The Tribune reported that the CM directed the ADGP to honour both the policemen deployed in the Zirakpur area. They were given Rs. 1,000 each along with certificates on Thursday.

                   


Earlier, a picture of an IAS officer from Manipur standing in waist-deep water to help with flood relief operations went viral on social media, which earned him much praise and respect.
