New Delhi: Marjaavaan featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, which hit the theaters this Friday, saw a jump on Sunday, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film made Rs 10.18 crores on Sunday, taking its first weekend total to Rs 24.42 crore, Mr. Adarsh twitted.

Talking about the three-day numbers, Taran wrote on Twitter, “#Marjaavaan jumps on Day 3... Healthy weekend... Finds patronage from mass markets... Large chunk of biz from single screens... Multiplexes of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities better... Mon biz is decider... Fri 7.03 cr, Sat 7.21 cr, Sun 10.18 cr. Total: ₹ 24.42 cr. #India biz.”

Earlier, on Friday and Saturday, the film had maintained a steady growth. Taran, tweeting the day 2 figures, had said that the film had been doing good business in the mass circuits.

“Marjaavaan maintains strong occupancy in mass belt/single screens on Day 2... Metros/multiplexes - average on Day 1 - remain in the same range... Biz should grow on Day 3... Eyes ₹ 22 cr [+/-] weekend... Fri 7.03 cr, Sat 7.21 cr. Total: Rs 14.24 cr. India biz,” he wrote.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty’s Motichoor Chaknachoor also released the same day. According to a report in NDTV, the film had made Rs 9.0 crore over Friday and Saturday. The film has been made at an estimated budget of Rs 20 crore.

Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana’s film Bala is still dominating the box office. A previous report in Box Office India had reported that Bala had collected an estimated Rs 6.5 crore on its second Saturday. This takes the total of the movie to a total of Rs 82.5 crore in nine days.
