Mohammed Shami Charged With Dowry And Sexual Harassment 

New Delhi: Kolkata Police has charged cricketer Mohammed Shami under Section 498A (dowry harassment) and  354 A (sexual harassment) of Indian Penal Code. The chargesheet against the fast bowler was submitted before the court of Alipore police, on Thursday.

A petition had been filed by the  cricketer's wife Hasin Jahan in the Alipore court mentioning domestic violence and demanded Rs 7 lakh per month from him. Her plea was accepted by the court and Rs 80,000 were allocated to her daughter.

On Thursday, a chargesheet was filed by the court over the complaint of Shami's wife regarding domestic violence and the torture she was subjected to by Shami and his family.

The bowler had, last played for India in the fifth ODI against Australia, in Delhi's Feroze Shah Kotla stadium.

India had lost the ODI series by 2-3 against the Australian side.
