One-Day Fast And Protest Organised By Northern Railway


New Delhi: The Northern Railway Workers Union organized a day-long fast and peaceful protest was organised outside the DRM office in New Delhi. The protest was conducted to fulfil the demands and the interests of workers, working in the Northern Railway and the problems faced by them.

 The union's main demands were to remove the new pension scheme and implement the old pension scheme and also carry out fast and uninterrupted demonstrations about the filling up vacant posts and problems of technician grade, track maintainers, running staff and other problems faced by the union.

The Union General Secretary, BC Sharma, Executive Chairman Prem Kumar Solanki, S.N. Malik, Union Minister, Subhash Chand, Manoj Kumar, and Divisional Minister Ramaniyak Sharma, and other key workers were present at the protest. The Congress party's Delhi region President Ajay Maken also arrived at the demonstration presented his thoughts and promised to support the railway employees in every possible way. After the strike, senior workers of the union handed over a memorandum to DRM, New Delhi, and General Manager of Northern Railway, New Delhi.

The second phase of demonstation took place on June 12, The headquarters division and  the board of directors were on strike at the head office of Baroda House New Delhi from 10 am to 4 pm.  The Divisional Minister of Headquarter Division Mr. DK Chawla, Divisional Minister, Assistant General Secretary, Mr. P.D. Sharma, Central Vice President Mr. Salim Khan, Board of Division, Mr. Anil Dubey, Mandak Pradhan of Headquarter Division, DC Sahu, Manoj Makhal, Girish ji, Women's Smt. Sunita Dhiman, Renu Tyagi, Jasbir Kaur, along with a large number of office bearers were the ones in strike.

 Mr. B.C Sharma, the Chief Minister of Northern Railway Workers Union also addressed the demonstartion and offered full support of all those who were protesting.
