New Delhi: Sridevi, born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan is an Indian actress, producer, who was born on 13 August 1963 . 

She is regarded as the first female superstar of Indian Cinema and a recipient of several awards including Padma Sri, National Film Award, three Film fare Awards and many more. Her career spanned five decades in which she appeared in a range of genres, from comedy to romance to drama. She was ranked as the highest-paid woman.

At the mere age of 4, she made her debut as a child artist with the 1967 Tamil film Khandan Karunai. You can now easily estimate her experienced in the film industry. She received wider recognition with the 1983 film Himmatwala. She took a break from films in 2005 then she returned to film acting in 2012 with the successful comedy-drama English Vinglish, then started in her 300th film role in the 2017 thriller Mom and grabbed the National Film Award for best actress.

Sridevi never liked talking about her personal life in interviews because of her shy behaviour many understood her to be arrogant. In the 1980’s she was reported to have married actor Mithun Chakraborty. Later, In 1996 she married producer, Boney Kapoor. The couple had two daughters, Janhvi, who is an actress and Khushi.

Sridevi's death controversies are very popular. On February 24, she found dead in her guest room at the hotel room in Dubai. The official reports showed that she had accidentally drowned in the bathtub with unconsciousness cited as a contributing factor.
