Shahid Kapoor's Father And Actor Pankaj Kapoor Turns 64

Shahid Kapoor

New Delhi: Pankaj Kapur was born on 29 May 1954. He is an Indian actor who has worked in all three mediums i.e. theatre, television and films. He is the father of actor Shahid Kapoor.

CAREER
He has appeared in several television serials and films and his most acclaimed work includes the role to of Inspector P.K. in Raakh (1989), Dr. Dipankar Roy in Ek Doctor Ki Maut (1991) and Abba ji, (based on Shakespeare's King Duncan) in Vishal Bhardwaj's adaptation of Macbeth; Maqbool (2003). The actor won National Film Awards for all the three roles.
He has also played the role of Mussadilal in comical satire Office Office.
The actor did theatre for four years after graduating from National School Of Drama, then he was offered a role in  Richard Attenborough's film Gandhi. He has directed over 74 plays and serials.
He made his bollywood debut with with Shyam Benegal's film Arohan (1982). He has also worked in parellel cinema before shifting to television. 

AWARDS 
He has won many awards including three times national award and two filmfares.
