Watch: Congress Questions PM & FM

New Delhi: Congress today held a Press Conference on the current state of the economy. Congress senior leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi addressed a Press Conference in the Congress Headquarters in New Delhi.

The Congress leader started his speech by taking a dig at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam's Ola, Uber comment. The Finance Minister on Tuesday has said "Automobile sector, in particular, has been affected by several things. These include BS6 (Bharat Stage 6) movement, the registration fee issue that has been deferred till June and the mindset of millennials, who are now preferring not to commit EMIs to buy automobiles but prefer to use Ola or Uber or take the metro."

Congress gathered stats on the economy and put forward ten "sarcastic" questions. Mr. Singhvi began his speech with a political "Jumula." He said, "Modi Ji ke Mantri ne jumle ka daga hai aisa gola, kya mandi ke piche hai such me Uber, Ola."

Indian economy is facing a slowdown in certain sectors which has immensely impacted the jobs of the people. The Congress in their 10 "sarcastic" questions raised some severe concerns of the economy including Agriculture, FDI, Stock Market, and Construction sector. About 13 lakh homes are ready to be sold but the inventory is not being sold, said Congress leader. Mr. Singhvi also questioned the government on the performance of Indian rupee and its fall down.

Towards the end of the Press Conference, Mr. Singhvi asked four questions to the Narendra Modi led Centre government.

"Why is FM more interested in cracking jokes and finding excuses instead of putting India on some sober part as far as the economy is concerned?" Mr. Singhvi raised a question.

Questioning the government on their 5 trillion economy target, Mr. Singhvi said.

"How and with which magical wand the PM and FM intend to make this hugely underperforming 10 sectoral economy in a 5 trillion economy?," asked Mr. Singhvi.

The auto sector is facing its worth slow down and drops in sales in decades. Many big names of the industry including Maruti and Tata has temporarily shut their certain production units. This has resulted in the loss of jobs of hundreds of thousands of layman workers.

"The auto sector has been shouting from the rooftop in pain and agony for at least 9 to 12 months. Kindle disclose to the nation what concrete steps you have taken PM FM to put it partially on the track?," asked Mr. Singhvi on Auto industry downfall.

Congress personally targeted the Finance Minister for her recent remarks and questioned on the silence of PM Modi on this issue.

"Why is PM hiding behind the underperforming FM? why is he not taking concrete steps and addressing the nation on this issue?" Mr. Sanghvi put forwarded the final question of the series.

The BJP led government is yet to reply on Congress Press Conference.
