New Delhi: The Center has appointed members of the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Teerath Kshetra Trust as ordered by the Supreme Court, officials said.
Chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, Nritya Gopal Das has been appointed as the chairman responsible for building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya whereas Vishva Hindu Parishad’s vice-president Champat Rai has been appointed the general secretary of the Trust. The criminal case is against both of them as Das and Rai are accused in the ongoing trial of the Babri Masjid demolition case.
The meeting held on Wednesday also appointed Nripendra Mishra, a former aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as the chairman of the temple construction committee. The decision was announced by Mr Champat Rai.
The meeting took at the residence of trustee K Parasaran to finalize the date to start the construction and steps that are needed further. They agreed to open a Trust's Bank account in State bank of India for any public donation for the Ram Mandir construction whose Power Of Attorney was given to trustee Anil Mishra.
Narendra Modi had announced a 15-member trust in Parliament on February 5, as ordered by Supreme Court. Modi named nine members leaving the rest. Several other members from the ministries were present at the meeting.
At the end of the first meeting, the trust expressed its gratitude and thanked Mr. Modi and all the authorities for its role in this matter and maintaining law and order after the verdict and also expressed its condolence for those who lost their fighting for Ram Janmbhoomi.
